Matt & Chelsea Cain Issue Challenge Grant to Sunrise Horse Rescue!
San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain and his wife Chelsea Cain, an accomplished equestrian, have issued a $50,000 matching challenge grant to Sunrise Horse Rescue!
If you donate to Sunrise Horse Rescue between May 12 and June 12, the Cains will match your contribution, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000!
As a supporter of Sunrise, we are hoping that you will seriously consider meeting the Cains’ challenge at whatever level you are comfortable.
Every dollar counts...and now it will count double!
“During the Valley Fire in Northern California last year, we saw photos of owners releasing their horses into the wild in an attempt to save their lives, and, at that moment, we knew we had to get involved,” said Matt Cain. “We believe so deeply in the incredible work that Sunrise Horse Rescue does every day to rehabilitate abused and neglected horses and are proud to support their efforts.”
A Message From Our Executive Director, Jeff Hoelsken
This incredibly generous challenge grant comes at an important time for Sunrise. The funds will support our mission in several ways, and allow us to direct resources where they are needed most, including feed, veterinary care, and program development. This grant, and all of the matching funds received, will help us continue to deliver the high quality horse care and programs our community needs while we complete our temporary move to Tamber Bey and redouble our efforts to find a permanent home in the Napa Valley.
I urge everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to double your investment in Sunrise, and I thank you in advance for your support.
