Mini-Moo is the young mom to Roni, and as such, she is fiercely protective. Some might say she is a bit of a helicopter parent, although she is learning to let her baby have some independence. She had developed a romance with her neighbor, Gazor, and the two call for each other whenever one is taken for a walk. Gazor, in fact, is so protective of Mini-Moo and Roni that he becomes frantic when they are too far away. Mini-Moo’s high pitched squeal gets everyone’s attention and causes Gazor to come running. The lively mini is very close to her big baby, and they never stray too far from each other.
Breed: Miniature Horse | Born: 2016 | Origin: Napa County | Joined the herd: 2018
Taken in by a Napa resident who had the space for horses, Mini-Moo turned out to be pregnant. She was able to have her foal in her new home, but the owner soon needed to move, and no longer had land available to keep her and her foal, Roni. The search for a new home was hindered by Roni’s birth defect, which required special treatment and rehabilitation. In an effort to keep the duo together and get Roni the help she needed, Sunrise Horse Rescue took them in.
